Here is a recap of the August 2023 Community AMA, a monthly session where the DIA Team answers community questions and suggestions in the DIA Telegram Community Chat.

Community AMA, August 2023

DIA is hosting a monthly Telegram AMA session with the core team. The aim of this monthly event is to improve direct communication between DIA and it’s community, by collecting community concerns and suggestions and having the DIA core team answer them.

Below is a recap of the August 2023 Community AMA that took place on Aug 8th, 2023. In this Community AMA, we had with us Dillon Hanson, BD Manager, and Anze Noc, Community & DAO Lead at DIA. Lets take a look at what was discussed:

What was DIA’s participation in ETH CC like? What activities did happen, and what benefits will DIA reap from the events?

DIA’s participation in ETH CC was highly productive and engaging. We took part in the conference in many different ways:

First, we organized a private dinner with prominent Web3 builders in collaboration with Crypto Nomads Club, providing a conducive environment for networking and idea sharing.

During the main ETH CC conference, we participated in several panel discussions including a panel on Liquid Staking with industry leaders. This allowed us to share our insights with the community and learn from other experts in the field.

One of the highlights was co-hosting “Infra Gardens,” a successful side event focused on blockchain infrastructure, with esteemed teams from leading Web3 companies such as Polygon, zkSync, Cosmos, Gnosis, Celo, Protocol Labs, and many more.

Our participation at ETH CC allowed us to forge new connections and gain valuable industry insights. We established fruitful relationships with various founders, developers, and stakeholders in the blockchain industry, propelling our business development efforts forward. Additionally, we got a grasp of the upcoming trends, enabling us to adapt our products to best fit the evolving market.

I saw that DIA hosted a side event during ETH CC with a few other teams. What was the topic and outcome?

DIA hosted the side event named “Infra Gardens” during ETH CC, in collaboration with teams from Fractal ID, Fabric Ventures, Phala, and Protocol Labs. The focus of the event was on blockchain infrastructure and its significance for the entire ecosystem. It provided a platform for blockchain professionals, protocol teams, and L1/L2 builders to come together, network, and share knowledge.

The event featured four panels with guest speakers from well-known projects, including Polygon, zkSync, Near, Gnosis, Addressable, and Celo, among others. These discussions offered valuable insights into various aspects of blockchain infrastructure. We will be sharing panel recordings on our Youtube and Twitter page in the following weeks, make sure to check them out as lot’s of useful and relevant information was shared in a very interesting and engaging format.

“Infra Gardens” was a resounding success, attracting over 1000 participants and being hailed as one of the standout side events of ETH CC. The event served as an exceptional opportunity for DIA to connect with key industry stakeholders and strengthen our position in the blockchain community. Based on the positive response and impact, we plan to host similar events during other significant conferences in the future.

We are uploading all panels from Infra Gardens to our YouTube channel, so feel free to watch them: https://www.youtube.com/@DIAdata_org/

How many projects are targeted to participate in the Arbitrum Gasdrop campaign?

The Arbitrum Gasdrop campaign is currently open for projects to apply, and we have allocated 30,000 $ARB for this purpose. Each successful applicant will receive 1000 $ARB as part of the gasdrop.

We expect the campaign’s activity to pick up in the coming months, leading to new partnerships between DIA and protocols building on Arbitrum. For detailed information on the gasdrop campaign and participation process, please visit the provided link: https://www.diadata.org/oracle-gasdrop-arbitrum-grant/

I’ve come across the DIA App on your website and was wondering what is the main purpose of these feeds, sources, and information provided there?

The DIA App is designed to showcase the various supported tokens, data sources, and other essential information to build new, custom DIA oracles. Within the app, users can explore over 3000 tokens, 18,000 NFT collections, and LSD feeds. Moreover, it offers insights into 80+ supported data sources, revealing where DIA fetches pricing data from, including CEXs, DEXs, and NFT marketplaces.

We recently enhanced the app by providing additional information on the most popular available price feeds, optimizing it for SEO and educational purposes.

Furthermore, the DIA App includes a “Feed Builder” feature, allowing users to create custom price feeds. This self-service tool enables them to select the asset, included sources, and methodology for calculating the price feed, resulting in an instant API endpoint and the ability to request the feed as an oracle.

Additionally, the DIA App incorporates the “System Monitor,” offering real-time monitoring of DIA’s platform modules. It serves as a comprehensive resource hub for users to stay informed about DIA’s oracles and data services. To explore the DIA App, please visit: https://www.diadata.org/app

Do you guys at DIA have any plans on onboarding real-world data manually, by some sort of validators (in opposition to IoT data gathering)? If so, what’s the approach?

With an eye on constant innovation and a commitment to staying at the forefront of blockchain technology, we are excited about the boundless potential that Real World Assets hold in shaping the future of finance and beyond.

Our team at DIA is actively exploring the different opportunities and roles that we can play in bringing Real World Asset information on chain. By becoming a reliable oracle for RWA’s, we can empower dApps and blockchain projects to access accurate and verified data on real-world assets, fostering a new era of transparency and trust.

In addition, we are also focused on partnering with various dApps and blockchain foundations which are focused on Real World Assets and collectively working with such teams to more specifically define the support we can provide as an oracle. While our exact strategy and approach for delivering this data on-chain is still being defined, it is certainly something we are focused on, and we believe Real World Assets will continue to grow in importance and adoption within the blockchain ecosystem.

Are there any plans on proposing a reward to the CAR voters this year as you guys did last year?

Similar to last year, we will allow the community to propose the measures for the usage of the unlocked DIA tokens. Same as every year, we plan to allocate a period during which the community can submit proposals on how the unlocked tokens should be utilized. We welcome suggestions and will evaluate the proposals, presenting the chosen options for a DAO vote, allowing the community to validate them.

More information and communication on this matter will be provided before the end of the year (November/December).

I have found the Zealy Quests to be personally rewarding. Has there been a noticeable benefit for DIA’s business ventures with the community performing these quests? Is there a projected duration of using Zealy?

We are delighted to hear that you find Zealy (previously Crew3) personally rewarding! Zealy has indeed proven to be an invaluable tool for community building and fostering collaborations. By engaging our community in Zealy sprints, which has now grown to over 1000 members, we have received valuable feedback, content, and ideas from active participants.

Additionally, Zealy has facilitated seamless community collaborations with other projects, allowing us to track individual contributions efficiently. Its gamified approach makes the contribution process enjoyable and rewarding for participants. Not only does Zealy help us scale our community and marketing processes effectively, it also provides a simple-to-use platform for anyone that wants to get involved and actively contribute towards the DIA community.

We plan to continue leveraging Zealy in our community-building efforts and are always open to feedback and ideas to enhance its effectiveness further.

What are the benefits of engaging with the DIA community on different platforms like Discord and other portals? How can community members actively contribute and collaborate?

The community is the cornerstone of any Web3 company. As a B2B company, building a strong community presents unique challenges, as our products are not directly accessible to token holders and community members. However, we understand that a robust community is essential for reputation, brand awareness, and marketing.

Engaging with the DIA community on various platforms, including Discord and TG, provides several benefits. Community members can actively contribute and collaborate in several ways:

  • Participating in Zealy sprints offers a chance to earn monthly rewards and provide valuable input.
  • Joining the DIA DAO allows members to contribute their skills to tasks supporting our core operations and earn $ETH in the process
  • Supporting DIA on social media helps increase our reach and exposure to relevant projects and individuals in the space.
  • Submitting proposals in the DIA DAO forum suggests new projects and initiatives for consideration.
  • Actively participating in community discussions on Discord and TG fosters knowledge exchange and networking.
  • Participating in the DAO votes using $DIA tokens resulted in a airdrop in the previous year

Every contribution is valued and noticed, and we are always on the lookout for talented individuals to help us achieve our goals. While not all activities are incentivized in the same manner, we thrive to reward the most valuable contributions that really support our core mission. Incentives vary based on the complexity of the contribution, market environment and other indices.
