Community AMA, September 2024

Here is a recap of the September 2024 Community AMA, a session where the DIA Team answers community questions and suggestions in the DIA Telegram Community Chat.

Community AMA, September 2024

DIA recently hosted a highly anticipated AMA session with the core team, aimed at fostering direct communication with our community. The event provided an opportunity for our members to ask questions and gain insights into the upcoming launch of DIA Lumina.

This AMA, held on September 10th, 2024, featured Anze Noc, DIA’s Community Lead, Dillon Hanson, Head of Business Development, and Zygis Marazas, Head of Product. Let’s dive into the key highlights and what’s next for DIA as we prepare for one of our most exciting updates to date.

Noticed the teaser video today on X. What is DIA Lumina? When can the community expect the big announcement?

We’re thrilled to finally shed some light on the next generation of oracles — DIA Lumina.

Lumina is a completely redesigned oracle stack, built from the ground up with decentralization, trustless execution, and utility for the native DIA token at its core. Lumina was built to enhance all aspects of DIA’s product stack, and cater to not only the current data needs in the Web3 space, but provide an adaptable architecture to support the future oracle needs of Web3.

Lumina marks the beginning of the next evolution of DIA oracles. The new stack leverages a range of technologies and innovations to serve the quickly evolving web3 space, both in its current state, and with a modular architecture which enables adaptability to future developments and needs.

We’ve worked tirelessly to make this happen, and we can’t wait to share the full details with you later this week! So keep an eye on our Twitter/X profile – we will share the details there soon!

But what really is DIA Lumina?

Even though I would like to unleash all the details, you’ll have to wait for the full announcement.

However, here’s some alpha on what is DIA Lumina:

Lumina is a comprehensive, modular oracle stack with different components working together to deliver a fully decentralized and transparent data solution.

Lumina will be an open ecosystem that enables external stakeholders to contribute data and economic security. At the heart of the Lumina stack is a DIA-native Ethereum L2 rollup which serves to bring transparency and verifiability to critical oracle operations like storage and computation.

Notably, the DIA token will play a central role in this setup.

How will DIA Lumina change DIA’s positioning in the oracle space? How do you plan to stay ahead, compared to other oracles?

One of the biggest problems in the oracle space is the lack of transparency—especially around how data is sourced and processed. With DIA Lumina, we’re addressing that by making sure every step of the data flow is on chain, fully verifiable, and trustless.

It’s also built for seamless integration with both EVM and non-EVM chains, giving us the flexibility to scale at the rate required by the fast-growing blockchain industry and ultimately support any chain.

Last but not least, Lumina’s architecture is modular and designed to invite community participation—whether it’s providing data, staking to secure the network, or even building on top of the system. This helps drive true decentralization while rewarding contributors through crypto-economic incentives.

So, it’s the combination of transparency, interoperability, and openness that positions DIA Lumina as a leading decentralized oracle solution.

What’s your go-to-market strategy for Lumina?

The new product will be rolled out in phases, starting with a testnet release, then moving on to mainnet and gradually onboarding existing and new users. Over time we will be improving the stack based on feedback and user needs and releasing more modules and features as they are ready for shipping.

The product rollout will be accompanied by a broad communications campaign with some strong partners, so keep your eyes peeled.

Who will be the first to use Lumina?

We’re fortunate to have the trust of over 250 dApps and chains in our network, and we’ll begin rolling out Lumina’s new architecture gradually to them, along with new partners.

We’re starting with a few trusted partners, ensuring a smooth transition and learning process as we fine-tune the stack.

Our goal with Lumina is to meet the unique needs of our partner dApps and chains, so we’re approaching the rollout with a focus on learning, testing, and refining the solution.

Will there be additional utility for the DIA token in Lumina? Wen Staking?

Absolutely! The $DIA token will have enhanced utility in Lumina. Token holders can stake their $DIA to help secure the network, playing a vital role in the decentralized structure. Additionally $DIA token will be used to drive network participation, and power key processes across the ecosystem. It will also pave the way for future use cases and innovations.

Of course, our token-related communications are bound by legal compliance, but we’ll provide more details in the announcement, along with additional educational content to ensure everyone understands how it works.

Staking in its initial form will be introduced with the rollout of the public testnet. Stay tuned for that.

How can the community get involved?

There are many exciting ways for the community to get involved, both in supporting our marketing efforts and engaging directly with the product.

First, help us spread the word! Sharing our announcements on social media and within your community networks will go a long way in building momentum around Lumina. Your support in amplifying our message is invaluable.

You can also participate in the DIA Community Hub’s campaign on Intract, where completing a few simple quests gives you a chance to compete for rewards. Sharing the campaign url here.

We also encourage your questions and feedback about Lumina. Your input is crucial in helping us fine-tune our communication and ensuring we address the needs of our community.

Lastly, keep an eye out for the upcoming staking announcement. It’s a fantastic way to get directly involved and contribute to securing the network.
